Meet the Members: Nat McLaren

Our latest ‘member of the week’ is our very own co-director of memberships, Nat McLaren. A valuable part of our team, Tottenham is very much a family affair, no better encapsulated than through his sons seeing Gareth Bale, and even appearing on the pitch for the pre-game juniors’ parade at our opening game against Everton this season.

Name: Nat McLaren

Age: 41

Where do you come from? Aylesbury, England

How long have you been living in Toronto? Since March 2015

How long have you been a member? I was a member of Spurs Canada, but rejoined Toronto Spurs in 2022

How long have you been a Spurs fan? Since I can remember as a kid

How did you become a Spurs fan? My mum was a die-hard fan and my Uncle a lifelong season ticket holder

What was the first Spurs game you watched? I couldn’t tell you

What is your favourite Spurs memory? My sons winning a raffle at a training event and getting to go in the old club house to receive the signed ball. Right at that moment Bale walked through and said, “hi boys”, the following month he was sold.

Who is/was your favourite player? Gareth Bale

How often do you come to Scotland Yard pub?  Being up in Aurora, I try to make the mid-week matches and then the later (9am or after) weekend games.

If I could change one thing about football, it would be . . .   I’d relegate the Gooners, ha ha.

Have you tried converting friends or family to Tottenham?  Yes, I have a good track record; with two new members of Toronto Spurs this season.

Favourite chant? “When I was a boy….”
